As of the end of 2021, a staggering 89.3 million people has been forcibly displaced worldwide. This includes 27.1 million refugees, half of whom are under the age of 18. In addition to the refugee crisis, there are 53.2 million internally displaced, 4.6 million asylum seekers, and 4.4 million Venezuelans displaced abroad. The numbers are truly astounding and are a testament to the ongoing humanitarian crises. It is also important to note that there are millions of stateless people who have been denied a nationality and, as a result, have no access to basic rights such as education, healthcare, employment, and freedom of movement. This is a heartbreaking reality that must be addressed and alleviated.
